So, you’ve finally said goodbye to that skin tag, milia, mole or stubborn xanthelasma — yay, go you! 🎉
But now you’re wondering:
“How do I look after my skin so it heals beautifully… and doesn’t leave a mark?”
Great question — because while the treatment is super gentle, aftercare is everythingwhen it comes to healing well and keeping your skin looking smooth, clear and confident.
Let’s walk through it together 👇
💫 Why Aftercare Matters
Whether you’ve had Advanced Electrolysis for skin tag removal, milia extraction, mole reduction or xanthelasma treatment, your skin has just had a little controlled trauma — like a mini scratch or burn that now needs to recover.
Following simple, effective aftercare helps:
Reduce the risk of infection or irritation
- Avoid unnecessary scarring
- Speed up the healing process
- Keep your skin glowing long after treatment
And it’s easier than you think.
📅 The First 24–48 Hours
This is when your skin is most delicate. You may notice:
- Slight redness
- A little swelling
- A tiny scab forming (that’s a good thing — it’s your body healing!)
What to do:
✔️ Do Not let the are get wet!
✔️ Dry healing will produce the best results
✔️Do not pick at the area, no matter how much it’ll itch!
❌ Avoid makeup, SPF, or any skincare products
🩹 Days 3–21: The Scabbing Phase
Tiny scabs may form — don’t panic! This is totally normal and expected. These protect the skin underneath as it repairs itself.
What to do:
✔️ Leave the scabs completely alone — they’ll fall off naturally
✔️Don’t pick at your scabs!
✔️ Avoid any makeup or NO touching of the area
What NOT to do:
❌ Don’t pick, scratch or peel
❌ Don’t use harsh exfoliants or cleansers
❌ No facials, peels, or treatments in this area until it’s fully healed
🌞 After 7–21 Days: Nearly Healed
Your skin should now be smooth or just slightly pink where the blemish used to be, once the scab has fallen off. This new skin is still fresh and more sensitive to sunlight, so SPF is key from here forward.
What to do:
✔️ Use a broad-spectrum SPF daily — especially if you’ve had treatment near the eyes or face
✔️ Reintroduce gentle skincare (hydrating serums, light moisturisers)
✔️ Enjoy your smoother, clearer skin!
