Blemish, Mole & Skin Tag Removal FAQs

If you’ve ever looked in the mirror and wondered, “Can I have this removed?” — you’re definitely not alone.

At Pure Holistic Beauty in Netley, Southampton, one of the most common treatments clients ask about is blemish removal using Advanced Electrolysis.

This safe and effective treatment can remove many common skin concerns, including skin tags, small raised moles, milia, blood spots and other minor blemishes.

Many clients looking for skin tag removal in Southampton or milia removal are surprised to discover how quick and straightforward this treatment can be.

If you’re new to the treatment, you might also find it helpful to read our guide to Top Questions About Blemish Removal.

Before booking, most people have a few questions — so here are some of the most common ones I hear in clinic.

Can moles, skin tags and blemishes really be removed?

Yes — many of them can.

Using Advanced Electrolysis, I’m able to treat a wide range of common skin blemishes including:

  • Skin tags
  • Small raised moles
  • Milia (tiny white bumps)
  • Blood spots / cherry angiomas
  • Sebaceous hyperplasia
  • Some dermatofibromas
  • Other minor skin irregularities

During your consultation, I carefully assess the area to confirm whether the blemish is suitable for treatment.

If you’re curious about how the treatment actually works, you can read more in the article What Method Do You Use to Remove Blemishes?

Does blemish removal hurt?

This is probably the number one question people ask.

The sensation is usually described as a small quick heat sensation that lasts only a short time.

Most clients say it’s very manageable and much quicker than they expected.

Because Advanced Electrolysis is such a precise treatment, it targets only the blemish itself without damaging surrounding skin.

Will the blemish come back?

In most cases, once a blemish has been successfully treated it will not return.

However, some people are naturally prone to developing skin tags or milia, which means new ones may appear elsewhere on the skin over time.

If you’re unsure whether you’re dealing with milia or a skin tag, you might find this guide helpful:

How long does the treatment take?

While the actual removal of many blemishes can be very quick, I always book a one-hour appointment for treatment.

This allows plenty of time to:

  • Talk through the treatment process in detail
  • Answer any questions you may have
  • Take photographs of the treatment area for records
  • Carry out the treatment carefully and professionally
  • Discuss full aftercare advice to support healing

In many cases, small skin tags or milia can be treated in just a few minutes, but allowing a full appointment ensures the treatment is never rushed and that you feel completely comfortable and informed.

What does the skin look like afterwards?

After treatment you may notice:

  • Slight redness
  • A small scab forming as the skin heals
  • Mild sensitivity

This is completely normal and part of the natural healing process.

The skin typically heals beautifully when the correct aftercare advice is followed.

You can read more about the healing process in my Blemish Removal Aftercare Guide.

Do I need a consultation first?

Yes — and it’s always worth it.

A £10 consultation allows me to:

✔ Assess the blemish properly

✔ Confirm whether it is suitable for treatment

✔ Explain the treatment procedure

✔ Discuss after-care

✔ Provide an exact treatment cost

It’s also a great opportunity for you to ask any questions and feel completely comfortable before treatment.

Can I send a photo first?

Yes — and many clients do.

If you’re unsure whether something can be treated, you’re very welcome to send a clear photo first. I can often advise whether it looks suitable for treatment before booking a consultation.
