What Are Thread Veins?

Thread veins are tiny visible blood vessels that sit close to the surface of the skin.

They often appear as fine red, pink or purple lines and are commonly found:

Around the nose
Across the cheeks
On the chin
Around the mouth
Occasionally elsewhere on the face

Thread veins are completely harmless but can become more visible over time.

You may also hear them referred to as:

Spider veins
Broken capillaries
Facial veins
Red veins

All of these terms are commonly used to describe the same concern.

Why Do Thread Veins Develop?

There are many reasons why thread veins can develop.

Some people have a genetic tendency towards them, whilst others notice them becoming more visible due to:

Ageing
Sun exposure
Temperature changes
Rosacea
Skin trauma
Lifestyle factors

Often there is no single cause.

They are simply one of those little things that gradually become more noticeable over time.

HOW DOES THE TREATMENT WORK?

Some people have a single small thread vein they would like treated.

Others have a larger area of redness that has gradually developed over many years.

During your consultation I will carefully assess the area, explain what treatment may be possible and answer any questions you may have.

I believe in honest advice, realistic expectations and helping clients make informed decisions without any pressure.

How Does Advanced Electrolysis Treat Thread Veins?

Advanced Electrolysis uses a very fine sterile probe to target the visible blood vessel.

A carefully controlled current is applied, causing the vessel to coagulate and gradually become less visible.

The treatment is extremely precise and is particularly effective for many small facial thread veins and broken capillaries.

A consultation is always carried out before treatment to assess suitability.

What Can I Expect During Treatment?

Most clients are pleasantly surprised by how quick treatment can be.

The sensation varies from person to person, but most people find it very manageable.

Treatment time depends on the size of the area being treated and the number of veins present.

Healing And Aftercare

Following treatment the area may appear slightly red or mildly swollen.

This is completely normal and forms part of the skin’s natural healing response.

The appearance gradually settles as healing progresses.

For 5 years I have had an annoying and ugly calcium spot on my eye bag. I decided to take the plunge and see if Jacqui at Pure could remove it. One month on, not only is everything fully healed and looking great - but a lot of skin tags on my neck have also been removed.
